Ministerial Commission of Qatar and Pakistan conducted its fourth meeting in Islamabad

Joint Ministerial Commission of Qatar and Pakistan conducted its fourth meeting at the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Energy and Industry today it said that the Qatari delegation was led by H. E. Dr. Mohammad Bin Saleh Al Sadat, Minister of Energy and Industry and he was accompanied by number of officials and representatives of Qatari Ministries, Organizations and Companies.  The Pakistani side was led by H. E. Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources.

Both sides discussed during the meeting bilateral cooperation in many domains such as energy, investment, labor, trade, banks and financial institutions, industry, education and science and technology.

During the meeting H. E. Dr. Mohammad Bin Saleh Al Sadat pointed to the strong relations between the State of Qatar and Pakistan, emphasizing on the need to expand the economical ties between the two countries.

H. E. also emphasized on the fact that the visit of H. H. Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Price of the State of Qatar to Pakistan during March last year, pushed the bilateral relations forward.

From his side, Shahid Khaqani Abbasi, welcomed the Qatari Delegation and appreciated the Qatari Government for successfully signing the contract for import of LNG.

He highlighted that Pakistan has embarked upon a major reform program that aims at fiscal stabilization, mobilizing domestic resources and restructuring the power sector which makes Pakistan an attractive destination for investors from Qatar.

During the meeting both sides emphasized on the need to bring up the trade volume between the two countries to its true potential.  The strong relations routed on the basis of brotherly, culturally and historically grounds were braised.

On the sideline of the meeting, H. E. Dr. Mohammad Bin Saleh Al Sadat called on H. E. the President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain.  Both sides discussed number of issues with bilateral interest.

Both sides agreed to hold the fifth meeting of the Joint Ministerial Commission of the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Doha during 2018.
