The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by high profile official and public representatives, His Excellency Mr. Khusro Bakhtiar, Federal Minister of Planning, Development and Reform was the Chief Guest. Among attendees there was H. E. Mr. Shehryar Afridi, Minister of State for Interior, H. E. Mr.  Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Special Assistant to Prime Minister and Minister of State on Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, Senator Mr. Talha Mahmood, Senator Ms. Sitara Ayaz and Senator Naseem Ullah Khan, representing His Excellency Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.

In addition to Ambassadors of friendly Arab and Foreign countries with their military attachés and members of the diplomatic corps.  Number of Generals of the Pakistan armed forces and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Government and Non-Governmental organizations such as Universities, Human Rights, Charity organizations … etc.  The reception was also attended by heads of think tanks and research institutes and also large number of senior politicians, media personal, journalists, and representatives of the religious parties.

In the occasion, His Excellency Mr. Saqr Bin Mubarak Al Mansouri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan gave a statement in which he valued the special relations between Pakistan and the State of Qatar.  He also highlighted the important points of the bilateral cooperation that has been improved lately, he also stressed on the wish of the State of Qatar for more development in its relations with Pakistan.

On his account, the Chief Guest, H. E. Mr. Khusro Bakhtiar, Federal Minister of Planning, Development and Reform, submitted his felicitation and congratulated the Government and People of the State of Qatar.  He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to H. E. the Ambassador of the State of Qatar for hosting the reception on such and valued occasion.  He assured that the relations between Pakistan and the State of Qatar are moving in steady steps and there was lot of notable development in all sectors specially in Economy, Trade and Military cooperation.

The Pakistani Minister thanked the Government of Qatar on its decision to import 100,000 Pakistani worker to work in the State of Qatar, and appreciated the Qatari contribution to improve the energy sector in Pakistan and its cooperation in the education sector.

The Minister stressed that Pakistan is looking for more development in the cooperation in the Economic sector in line with the chances available on the project of the Pakistan China Economic Corridor.  At the end of his statement he wished the State of Qatar more growth, progress and prosperity.

During the ceremony, a number of cultural programs were held, and a special pavilion was held for publications that provided an overview of the continuous and wise growth and development of the State of Qatar since its establishment.  This is in addition to distributing gifts to guests participating in the ceremony
