Qatari Ambassador to Pakistan praises relations between the two countries, during an interview with the Pakistani newspaper "Pakistan Observer"

H. E. Mr. Saqr bin Mubarak Al Mansoori, Qatar's ambassador to Pakistan, praised the relations between the two countries.  He said in an interview with the Pakistani daily "Pakistan Observer” that there is a sincere approach between the two countries to push forward cooperation between them.

He also expressed Qatar's appreciation for the role of Pakistanis working in Qatar and their participation in its development.  He added that more Pakistani workers will be attracted to participate in the projects related to 2022 World Cup and other projects.

As for the Gulf crisis, the ambassador said that the blockade imposed on the State of Qatar by some countries is contrary to international laws and conventions. The expulsion of them to Qatari citizens, which led to many problems faced by children and adults alike especially in mixed families, and faced by students who could not attend their exams or obtain their certificates, is a violation of international law and human rights.

In response to a question about the charges against Qatar for its financing of terrorism, he denied these accusations and stressed that the countries of the blockade were unable to provide any evidence to prove these charges.  He added that Qatar works with many other countries, including the United States, to combat international terrorism.  He pointed out that the State of Qatar supports the education of children through the program "educate a child" and provide employment opportunities for youth through the "Silatech" organization, through this, it is trying to prevent them from falling into the trap of terrorism.

As for the list that were put by the blockade countries to classify Qatar charity organizations as supporting terrorism, the Qatari ambassador said that “Qatar Charity” is one of the United Nations advisory institutions and cooperates with some UN organizations such as UNICEF and UNRAWA in various fields.

As for the closure of Al-Jazeera channels and all the networks affiliated with it, His Excellency stressed that this is a clear violation of the freedom of media and opinion.  As for the demand to close the Turkish base, he stressed that this is a sovereign matter and that the agreement with Turkey, which was signed three years ago, is in line with Qatar's obligations in the Gulf Cooperation Council and many of the blockade countries have foreign bases.

He also expressed the appreciation of the State of Qatar for the role played by His Excellency Mr. Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the beginning of the crisis by calling for the importance of dialogue between all parties and his initiative to present the possibility of Pakistan to play a role to bring together the views and work on resolving the crisis through dialogue for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and also to his support for the mediation initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait.
