HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani underlined the strength of bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, pointing out that the two countries have a common vision for a stable and prosperous Afghanistan as soon as possible.

HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met separately on Thursday in Islamabad with HE Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and HE Chief of Army Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

HE Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan met in Islamabad on Thursday with HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and the developments in Afghanistan. The Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his country's thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar for its efforts and support for the peace process in Afghanistan and its pivotal role in facilitating evacuations from Afghanistan. The visit comes within the framework of the State of Qatar's efforts to contribute to achieving comprehensive peace and lasting stability in Afghanistan

HE Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Chairman Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, met with HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Sheikh / Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. They reviewed the bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest were discussed.

H.E. Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, met with H.E. Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Counterterrorism and Mediation in Conflict Resolution Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani. During the meeting, regional and Afghan developments were reviewed.

HE Mr. Asad Qaiser, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, met with HE Ambassador Sheikh / Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. They discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them, in addition to other issues of common interest.

HE Ambassador Sheikh / Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, met today with Dr. PalithaMahipala, Representative of the WHO in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. They discussed developments related to Covid-19 and exchanged views on other related topics.

H.E. Ambassador Sheikh / Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani called on H.E. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force in his office today. During the meeting, both the dignitaries discussed matters of professional and mutual interest.

H.E. Ambassador Sheikh Saoud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani called on brotherly Saudi Arabia's Ambassador H.E. Nawaf Saeed al-Maliki.They exchanged cordial conversation and discused issues of common interest. Qatar 's Military Attaché Staff Brig Pilot H.E. Salem Hamad Alsharqi AL Marri was also present.

Qatar Embassy, Islamabad, represented by the Second Secretary, Mr Masoud Talib Al Athbi, participated in a virtual meeting of the Core Group of the Support Platform for the SSAR: "Virtual Mission to Pakistan" hosted by the UNHCR and SAFRON Ministry.
